Ron Manzanero, M.D.
Ron Manzanero, M.D.
Dr. Manzanero serves as Medical Director of AIM MD P.A. and has been a physician for over 20 years. He graduated from the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston, then completed his residency in Family Medicine at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center and an internship at Texas Tech University Health Science Center. He has practiced in Austin since 1990.
Dr. Manzanero works with both conventional and alternative therapies, using an integrative approach. While recognizing the benefits of prescription drugs and surgery, Dr. Manzanero looks for the root of a patient’s problem from a holistic point of view: that when one part of your body is not functioning effectively, it can affect all of your body systems—physical, mental, and emotional. He takes a patient-centered approach by listening to your concerns and including you in the decision-making process about tests and therapies.
His long-time interest in science, medicine, and health has led Dr. Manzanero to many fields of study, including nutrition and herbology, homeopathy, oxidative therapies, functional endocrinology (including bio-identical hormones, sugar metabolism and diabetes, and thyroid function), heavy metal detoxification, and others.
Dr. Manzanero heeds his own advice to eat a healthy diet and exercise regularly. One way he achieves his fitness goals is by practicing Chinese Hung Gar Kung Fu, in which he has attained the level of black sash.
